Keeps the big fish from breaking the line.
Works perfectly in my Shimano reels. I get a real feeling of confidence when I'm fishing for big Muskellunge, knowing I've done what I can to ensure they don't break the line.Note that this line easily picks up & holds onto cottonwood fluff laying on/in the water during pollinating season for Cottonwood trees. That stuff is VERY hard to remove from this line.
