Joe Hisaishi Meets Kitano Film

I bought this after hearing an elderly gentleman playing beautiful music in the foyer of a local hospital. He gave us Joe Hisaishi's name and was waxing lyrical about his music, so I thought I've give this a go.It's absolutely gorgeous - I love it! Bought a copy for my mother too (who I was accompanying on that hospital trip) and she also adores it. There's something timeless and captivating about it.

If you are looking for a compilation of Hisaishi's works, here is the ultimate one. Themes and songs from all the Kitano films are there. None of the Miyazaki Anime film-themes tho, I think they'll be on "Works", or a Ghibli Compilation.If you don't know any of Hisaishi's Music, it's beautiful, haunting and tender film music, often fully orchestrated and often strangely melancholic. Slightly reminds me of Ryuichi Sakamotos stuff, only not as eccentric.I'm not so good with words and descriptions, so it's good that Hisaishi's Work bypasses all that and goes straight into the heart ;-)
