Simple easy great door/window sensor

Great sensor. Item shipped and arrived super fast. Syncing with my home base 2 was super easy, as was customizing the settings and functionality for the sensor. Install was super easy, with the attached adhesive pads, though I put one of the included screws in to make sure it stays place.

Entry Sensors work as they should- Full System Review

Eufy Security ReviewI’ve put a lot of time into researching alarm systems. I used to work for an alarm system company and believe in home managed “smart” systems. Eufy caught my eye after a lot of great reviews on the doorbell. I decided to keep all my sensors and cameras within the same system to keep it easier to manage. After having it for 8 months now: I’ll go over the pros and cons of this system from my experience. My system includes: 2k Wireless Doorbell Cam, Door/window sensors, Motion sensors, Eufycam 2c (wireless) version, Eufy Cam 2, and a 2k Indoor Cam Pan and Tilt. I have been testing most cameras on the highest sensitivityPros:1. Won’t drain your wifi: We have relatively low bandwidth, a decent amount of smart devices, and Eufy works well most of the time! The range is good too I have one camera in the backyard away from the house and it streams well.2. Local recording: Peace of mind knowing someone at the company or something isn’t watching you.. I hope, haha.3. Installation and setup: Don’t know how it could be easier.4. Interface is easy to use and setup to customize5. Battery on dedicated Cameras - The version 2 camera really did last 6 months before I had to charge it, and I had high sensitivity most of the time. The 2C cameras are good, but not quite as advertised. The doorbell is the worst and I have to charge is about every 2-3 weeks.Cons:1.) Motion detection - this is my biggest issue with the system as its part of most of the products use this hardware to trigger alerts or record.- Detection/reach is NOT 30 feet. I’ve measured on multiple cameras and it rarely picks up anything that far away. Usually starts recording at about 10-15 feet (so half?!). Not great.- People and dogs? Nope. It will often go off with cars, leafs blowing by, when a cloud moves and the suns sines through brighter than the second before, and more. This can be very frustrating, especially when you have it set to “human only” mode. WHAT HUMAN CAN MOVE 35 mph and is 12 feet long? Or what human is 3 inches big and brown…i.e a leaf? Haha.- Slow: If someone hurries up to your door or by the camera, it won’t pick it up. I get a lot of recording of back of heads as UPS folks are going away.-Sometimes misses obvious ones: A family member will walk by a camera 10 ft away in the middle of the day, or go to their car and nothing will have been triggered. Kinda scary. This is especially odd since I’ll get 3 triggers a day from a gust of wind, but not a person walking by… I don’t get it.2.) False Alarms. This is mostly a product of the motion detection and mentioned above. The scariest in when you have the alarm set to “away” in the middle of the night. The heater turns on in the basement and a “motion detection” alarm goes off. You spring out of your bed… oh crap, someone is in the basement?? Grab a gun, wife runs to grab kids… your adrenaline is running high at 2am and… nothing (thankfully). Have that happen a few times with a camera, or motion sensor and then it becomes a boy who cried wolf situation. Scary when you actually need to be alarmed though you’ve built up a tolerance. But hey, now I’m getting good at “sweeping” an area much like a SWAT team I see in the movies? Haha3.) Default evening motion detection is set to “all things”. So if cars go by, you’ll have to turn off notifications or else you’ll get a LOT, all night.4.) Doorbell Battery life: if you want to monitor well, it dies quickly. Again, it picks things up late in my experience so I have to have it on high sensitivity or it misses obvious things. And yes, I’ve tried placing it in different spots.5.) Image quality not as advertised- for “2k” on some of these cameras, it’s not like the advertisements where you can zoom in and clearly see a license plate or something haha. Faces are pretty good, but it’s not thaaaat great. Better than others for sure, but still not what you’d expect for what seems to be the highest def in the consumer wireless market.6) Incomplete Security items: These are bonuses, but a fire-alarm, flood sensors, or other items that would make it complete. This includes monitoring service. Would be great to have IF you go away on vacation for a week. I’d pay for it. Lastly, I love that a certain competitor has a cell signal incase wifi goes out.7) Indoor cam has its own security settings. Why is this separate? Just treat as another 2c, or version 2 camera. Conclusion: I had high hopes for this system. Other systems seems to be less compatible with google home, or charge money to use the cloud, or don’t locally record, etc…. It seems there is not a perfect complete system. This one is pretty good If I were to do it again I would just use the doorbell and maybe door/window sensors. I then would get the cameras and motion sensors from a different company and hope I can bridge it all to a google home or something.

Eufy Entry Sensor: When Doors and Drama Collide!

Move over Hollywood, because my home just got a taste of the spotlight with the eufy Entry Sensor! I've never seen doors and windows put on such a performance. It's like they're auditioning for "America's Next Top Security Star."Alerts? Oh boy, hold onto your hats because these notifications don't just knock, they rap on your phone like it's a talent show finale. "Open sesame" has nothing on the eufy Entry Sensor's "ALERT, ALERT, everyone, the door's in action!"And let's talk about that siren. I half-expected it to start reciting Shakespearean monologues. "To sound, or not to sound, that is the question." It's like my home has a built-in DJ, and it's playing the "Dramatic Door Dilemma" remix. The 2-year battery life is like that one friend who's always there for you, no matter what. "I got your back, buddy, for 730 days straight!" I wouldn't be surprised if it starts sending you motivational quotes – "Hang in there, I'm still kicking!"Just remember, this indoor sensation requires a HomeBase to channel its inner superstar. And if you're ready to take the security show to a whole new level, go ahead and add that optional 24/7 Protection Service – because when it comes to safety, it's time to go big or go home. So, if you're ready to turn your doors and windows into the ultimate drama queens, the eufy Entry Sensor is your VIP pass to a security spectacle that's part comedy, part thriller, and all-around hilarious. Bravo, eufy, bravo! 🎭🎉

Works great, but magnet piece is a weak link

I have several of these installed to help monitor an Airbnb, and have them linked to some other Eufy products to help maintain and secure it remotely. These sensors work well enough, however the magnetic base is really weakly made. The magnet is strong, but too strong for the case they have it installed in to the point it will "break itself" (cause the plastic shell to pop apart)...the result is that the door/window will always appear closed, defeating the entire purpose, until you discover it and fix it.1 star off for the low quality double-sided tape. I had to attach the magnets with screws, as overtime the stronger than necessary magnet would defeat the double sided tape.1 star off for the weak case/shell for the magnet, as I had to use glue to repair 2 of the magnets after they kept popping their "case" apart.
