There are many of these traditional pin cushions on the market, and for many of them, there has been negative feedback as being too lightweight or poor quality. The stuffing in the tomatoes is placed in a plastic bag, but overall the tomato has a nice weight and it is easy to put a pin or needle in and remove it. I picked the tomato up, turned it upside down, and shook it. The pins and needles stayed in place. You get 3 pincushions in a zip lock bag. The small is about an inch, the middle about 2 inches, and the large about 4 inches in diameter. The strawberries traditionally contain emery to help sharpen the point, but with coated pins and needles, this function is not as necessary anymore. Historically the tomato and strawberry are to bring good fortune to your home. When the fresh products were not available, people made artificial ones for good fortune. Since pins and needles were precious items in years past, they were stored in the good fortune tomato! If you are looking for a practical pincushion and a bit of nostalgia, this set will fill the bill.

The produce does not sit on a flat surface. It rolls. The material inside the tomato is made out of styrofoam ball and is very hard. Because this material is used, it makes it hard to work with.As a kid, I had one of these and this product is nothing like that.I feel this product is not practical.

I liked that the cushion came with 2 extra cushions. Looking at the cushion,bit appears to be only 1. I only realized there was 3 when I swiped through the pictures.

Arrived quickly and exactly as described. I love this classic pincushion- adorable. And there were three of them- in sizes large, med and itty bitty. Super cute!

This one came quickly, just in time. But I find it is a little awkward. A little too big.

This appears to be a styrofoam ball with fabric around it. Hard to push needles in and take out. Very lightweight so doesn’t stay in place when trying to take out needles. I don’t like it and will buy a different pin cushion
